From vehicle type to the process
The market overview is useful because it reminds buyers that AGV / AMR is not one product category. Different vehicle types serve very different transport relations, load carriers and operating environments, so comparing them only on price is rarely enough.
The most important question is which vehicle architecture fits the process: horizontal pallet flow, tugger loops, storage automation, very narrow aisles or mixed environments that demand more flexibility. That choice shapes both the investment logic and the rollout risk.
A good market comparison therefore starts from the use case, then moves to technology, integration and total cost of ownership.
The categories discussed include under-load robots, stackers, reach trucks, tuggers and VNA vehicles. They address floor-level pallet transport, line supply, high storage and transport of sets of loads between zones. Suitability depends on the load carrier, site geometry, required throughput and integration level. Define the use case before calculating ROI and choosing a compact, warehouse-oriented or specialist vehicle.
